MANIMAHESH YATRA INFO Rishab blogs as concerned sep 2012

Manimahesh>>a beautiful lake in chamba distt of hp india.it is situated at height of 4029 mts in pir panjal range from where u can witness snow clad mountains.
trekkable distance is 14kms but the angle of ascent is too much and it is considered as easy to moderate.
yatra dates are declared every year actually yatra occured in aug end to oct.
brief itenerary:(from delhi)

day1:>take a train to amritsar or pathankot from delhi.

day2:>next morning from pathankot take a bus to chamba u can get a bus from bus stand but keep in mind the frquency is low.

day2:>at dawn u will be in chamba u can get a bus to bharmour from bus stand the route is not good enough to travel with bus taxi is recommended on sharing basis costs around 100 to 130 from chamba to bharmour disance 65 kms appr overnight stay in bharmour at homestay costs around 100 per head.

day3:>there is a barmani mandir in bharmour trek distance is just 2 and half kms but trek will leave u breatheless.from the main market in bharmour there is a trek route to bharmani confirm from local. see the pic below

day3:>after the bharmani mata trek u have to reach hadsar by taxi which is 15kms from bharmour costs around 60 inr.time 45 min.

HADSAR is the place from where the trek starts of 14 kms which is recommended to be covered in two phases.i.e from hadsar to dhancho trek 7kms and further from dhancho to manimahesh lake trek 6kms.

no need to carry heavy luggage if its still necessary u can hire porter or mule .dont forget to take rain coat or take poncho plastic use and throw rain coat.
no need to carry much food, tent or any other equipment if u r travelling during post monsoon season.plenty of food available on the way right from starting point.langars and paid both.

the trek starts after climbing some stairs from where u will enter the true wilderness left on himalayas. hadsar is 2317 mts see the starting point u can either take a helicopter costs around 2000 or 2500 if up and down confirm latest prices but the real fun is by trek

day3:>after climbing these stairs u ve to trek 7 kms upto dhancho. at starting u will trek through deodar jungle after 3kms tree line starts diminishing as u r rapidly gaining altitude dhancho is at height of 3300 mts or more there will be no tree line see pic u will get an idea

overnight stay in tents u can stay free with langar sewa or if there is no place u can stay in tea shops will charge 50 to 100 per head depending upon season and crowd.
